Renovation and extension of a country house in the Eifel National Park
In the midst of the landscape of the Eifel Nature Park, embedded in a striking hillside location with direct views of the Rursee and the wooded Kermeter ridge, a unique residential ensemble combining tradition, closeness to nature and timeless elegance is being created. The existing country house will be carefully renovated and architecturally expanded. The design respects the original structure and blends harmoniously into the surroundings. Light-colored quarry stone masonry and natural wood elements characterize the exterior design and reflect the character of the region. A new extension with a spacious terrace opens the house to the landscape, creating seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces. The heart of the house, along with the dining room, is the open-plan kitchen-living room with a fireplace – a place to relax, unwind, and socialize. Extensive glazing provides unobstructed views of the surrounding forests and water. The newly planned swimming pool, with a green roof and a 12-meter-long indoor pool, is connected underground to the main building and blends seamlessly into the building ensemble with its clean lines and high-quality furnishings. The wellness area is complemented by an exclusive spa with a sauna and gym. This project exemplifies a contemporary interpretation of rural construction—close to nature, high-quality, and sustainable, it blends harmoniously into the striking topography of the park-like site. It combines traditional materials with modern architecture, creating a retreat that offers both tranquility and inspiration.
